2016-2018: Project Start

First Erasmus+ project has successfully started

One of our strategic aims is to provide our students the possibility to gain work experience in Europe. Due to this independence, flexibility as well as intercultural competences shall complement their vocational training. Together with our partners at Tietgen in Odense (Denmark) we would like to implement this aim gradually.

In a very first step six teachers of our school will get to know our partner school and the Danish VET system in August / September 2017. Furthermore they will explore and discuss options for future student and teacher mobilities. An educational concept will assure the systematic and goal-driven implementation of mobilities. This project was successfully granted by the Erasmus+ programme in June 2016.

In December 2016, Monika Rief (Principal), Markus Hüttel (Department Manager for Trade and Administration) and Angelika Winkelhardt (Erasmus+ Coordinator) visited Tietgen in order to discuss the job shadowing activities of the German teachers with the Danish project coordinators.

During the stay we were offered an amazing insight into the teaching and learning concept of our Danish partners. Even though both VET systems are quite different, Berufsbildende Schule Wirtschaft II and Tietgen share a common understanding in preparing students for their professional life. Autonomous and
action-oriented learning with the help of digital media play a central part in learning. Accordingly this cooperation will also foster an active exchange of experience and mutual learning.
